Another example of what the iPad could have been

One of the Chinese blogs I follow just got their hands on a new iPad knockoff (from one of the multitude of gadget companies in China). I haven't been able to track down the company's website, so I'm not sure which one produced this tablet.

I think it's something of a stretch to call this an iPad knockoff. Yes, it has a 10" screen, but it runs Win7 on an Atom N450 (1.66GHz) CPU  and weighs over 2 pounds. It has a 320GB hard disk (it's thick, too).

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
