Kobo, USA Today, comiXology will have iPad apps

This will probably be the last of the iPad app announcements. Now that Amazon has been approved, it's a matter of when, not if, other apps will be available.

From the Kobo blog:

A couple months ago we were so excited about the iPad launch we could barely sleep. Since then, it’s our developers who have been robbed of their sleep creating an all new Kobo HD eReader to match the revolutionary design of the iPad. Not only did we choose to lead with great design but we also added some very cool features to our new iPad app that we plan to bring to our other platforms.

Well the wait is finally over! We are proud to announce that today Kobo has arrived on the iPad as the first third-party eReading application available on Apple’s iPad App Store . As we say, Kobo will be on any device people use to read – and iPad is no exception.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
