First Look at the Bookeen Orizon (video)

The Orizon is Bookeen's newest ereader. It has a 6" Sipix screen, and the release date has been pushed back to July. (My guess is that it will get bumped to September.)

This video was shot by Simplicissimus, an Italian web retailer tech  blog. I don't know how they got their hands on the Orizon, but I think blackmail may have been involved.

About Nate Hoffelder (10619 Articles)
Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. Simplicissimus is even a web store, so Booken will earn with them.

Thank you for pointing that out. I really should have looked closer.

  3. Hi all! Simplicissimus Book Farm is the company I founded in 2006: we distribute all non-kindle devices since Jan 2007, namely iRex, Bookeen, Jinke, Cool-er, Onyx… Our Publishing Services dept. offers conversion and distribution services to all major Italian publishers, as well as mobile apps for the publishing industry. Just to let you know 🙂

  4. Gah! The delay on page swipes there is Not Good. I can see why Sony will keep buttons with the new touchscreened Readers. Interesting to see it has a touchscreen without the murkiness Sony had. But it also makes me wonder if we’ll be seeing the stylus and notetaking going away too!

  5. Since the video I made for Simplicissimus has become obsolete, I removed it. It was an early prototype.
