Viewsonic Jin Yong e-reader

This is another great ereader from Viewsonic. It was named after a popular novelist, and it has a Marvell CPU, Wifi, 2GB Flash, and a unique touchscreen by a Swedish company called Neonode. It was developed by a Koobe, a Taiwan tech company, specificaly for a partnership between Viewsonic and Yuan-Liou Publishing. The Jin Yong is going to retail for about $150, which would make it their cheapest ereader when released in July.

I was a little surprised to hear that; I'd say it looks more sophisticated than Veiwsonic's other ereaders. They look like consumer models; this one looks like a high-end model.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
