Wowio relaunch their new & improved website

From the press release:

Today WOWIO, Inc., an established market leader with an online destination that provides access to rich digital media content and eBooks, announced the launch of its newly redesigned website, The revamped site features a cleaner layout showing the latest releases and titles and enhances user experience and online reader usability.

I'm sorry to use that trite phrase, but in this case I think it fits. Wowio have significantly improved their website. The new design makes it a lot easier to navigate and find stuff. I'm also impressed with their PDF viewer. It was actually nicer to read a graphic novel on their site than it was to download the PDF.

But then again, I'm not sure they really know what they're doing. The PDF I was reading was a free one, which is great. But it was the second in the series, not the first. As a rule the freebie should be the first in a series. This is how you tempt customers into buying more. Instead, Wowio confused me because I didn't know all the details.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
