Minotaurs are the new Vampires

Every so often I like to take this blog outside the technical news I usually cover. This is one such time.

I wanted to be the first to announce the hot new fantasy fad theme that's going to replace vampires: the minotaur, a bull-headed, human-bodied creature of ancient Greek mythology. Razorbill Books executive Graham Childress has announced a 3 book series about "a bad-boy minotaur who transfers to a new high school and eventually falls for the one girl who can see the pain and sensitivity behind his brooding exterior."

This book will hit shelves on Dec. 14, the same date three rival publishers will release novels featuring a bad-boy mummy, a bad-boy cyclops, and a bad-boy Mayan vision serpent.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
