New 7″ LCD e-reader for Australia

The GHT G2ER ereader has a 7" LCD screen, 2GB Flash, as well as pretty broad video, audio, and ebook support. But it doesn't have a touchscreen, Wifi, or support for ebook DRM. The battery life is also disappointing.

If you ask me, this is another converted digital picture frame. I also think it's the same hardware as the Sungale CD706A that I showed you some time back. I found the spec sheet for this ereader and it looks a lot like the details I got from Sungale.

You can find it on the JB Hifi website for $124 AUD.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
