Txtr launch Android app

Last month Txtr very quietly announced that they've released an Android app. Like their iPhone app, txtr4Androidis a rather basic reading app. I've used the iPhone app and I was extremely underwhelmed. You have 4 font size choices and some annotation abilities.

The real value in these apps is that they tie in to txtr's servers, and you can sync content between the apps and the txtr ereader. Unfortunately, the txtr ereader doesn't exist yet. It was supposed to be on the market 8+ months ago and it keeps being delayed.

To be perfectly honest, the txtr ereader is at the top of the list of devices I never expect to see. You can download the app in the Android Market.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
