Waterstone’s dropped Sony Pocket Edition to £99.99

UK bookstore Waterstone's have dropped the price of the Sony Pocket Edition yesterday. The price on Sunday was priced £179. (The price of the Sony Touch Edition, £199, has not changed.)I don't know about you, but I'd bet the change is a response to the Kindle.

I'm a little surprised at quite how high the price was on Sunday and how high the price still is. It's only £10 less than the Kindle Wifi. Then again, here in the US the Pocket Edition is still priced at $10 more than the Kindle Wifi, so I guess the UK price isn't so bad.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
