I will be visiting Overdrive’s Digital Bookmobile at the 2010 National Book Festival

That's a weird title, I know. But I couldn't think of a better way to get your attention.

The 2010 National Book Festival is coming up in a couple weeks, and Overdrive will have their Digital Bookmobile on hand.  It will be used to give demonstrations on how to check ebooks out of your library.

I've confirmed that they plan to bring their new Android reading app so I can look at it. FYI: Back in May Overdrive announced that they were developing reading apps that worked with their library system. The apps aren't out yet, but they are expected this year.

About the Festival

National Book Festival is  a 1 day book fair that's held every year on the National Mall in Washington DC. It's an enormous event that's packed with people. If you plan to go either arrive early or forget about it. The venues get packed fast and the lines for autographs are incredibly long.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
