Sesame Street ebookstore now open

Sesame Street have just launched their ebookstore today.  You can now choose from any of 134 ebooks and audio books published by Sesame Workshop.

The  reading app is cloud based, unfortunately; you'll need a web connection to read the ebooks. Basically this means that you're paying an admission fee, not buying ebooks. Fortunately they already figured that out. You can't buy an ebook they're selling subscriptions ($4 a month or $40 a year).

There's even a free ebook for you to try. <- Could someone try this on an Pad and tell me how well it works? It's a pity that it requires Flash. I would have thought that it would be more likely that you'd visit with an iPad (or large tablet) than any other device.

Thanks, Richard!

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. It looks like you need Flash. I only had a couple of minutes to give it a try though – I may have missed something.
