Blackjack now available for the Kindle

Amazon have just uploaded a new app to the Kindle Store. It's Blackjack.

The Kindle version features all of the most common aspects of the game including splits, double down, surrender and insurance, as well as multiple options for customization that allow you to play the style of Blackjack that you want to play. For example, you can configure the game to match specific structures like 'Dealer must hit soft 17' - a common rule variation in many Las Vegas casinos.

Do you want to know why I keep posting the Kindle apps? It's becuase I like evaluating the apps and pointing out which ones really shouldn't be on the Kindle (mainly becuase they need a mouse or touch screen).

This version of  Blackjack gets a pass. You can use the d-pad but you don't have to. Everything can be done from the keyboard.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
