2 New apps for the Kindle

The week got away from me, and I'm just now getting a chance to share a couple new apps for the Kindle.

First up is Slingo, and from what I can tell the game play is identical to the game you play on your computer. This is one that I'm not sure is worth the money; I don't think it will keep your interest.

The objective of Slingo is to accumulate the highest number of points. Spin and match the reel numbers to the numbers on the 5x5 card, trying to cover all the numbers in 20 spins or less. Earn a "Slingo" and huge bonus points when you match 5 numbers in a row. Slingos can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.

The  other new game is Wordoku. As you can see from the lead picture,  this is a variant of Sudoku, only with letters instead of numbers. It looks interesting.

A fun twist on Sudoku, Wordoku puzzles use the letters of a word or phrase instead of numbers. Each row, column and 3x3 cell square on the game board contains all of the letters in the word or phrase. Fill all the empty cells on the game board with the correct letters to complete the puzzle.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
