NookColor firmware update now available

I wouldn't rush out and get it just yet; v1.0.1 is a minor update that fixes some bugs with Wifi and the browser. The only serious change is that it will de-root your NC and possibly block you from hacking it again.

Barnes & Noble is providing a minor update to NOOKcolor firmware that will improve NOOKcolor's Wi-Fi connectivity and browser experience (such as being able to easily toggle between desktop and mobile mode). The software update is available immediately via a manual download here and will also be delivered via an automatic download for devices connected to Wi-Fi, over the next few days.

  1. There are new problems introduced with this update too. So look for an update to the update. It will unroot a NookColor when installing, but it can then be re-rooted.
