Rooted NookColor now a $250 in car stereo system

The NookColor has been hacked for some time now, and people keep finding new things to do with it. A Youtube video popped up on Reddit today. One innovative hacker is using his NC as his in-car entertainment system. The install is rather kludgy at the moment, and the cables look messy. But it works as a music player, and he can also browse the web when he tethers the NC to his smartphone. He's hoping to do away with the wires once Bluetooth is enabled, and he's also looking forward to the Froyo release that the XDA Devs hackers are working on. The video is after the break.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
