Google shipping the CR-48 Chromebook – again?

It looks like Google might be shipping the original Chromebook again.

Back in FebruaryGoogle started shipping the CR-48 Chromebook to developers and reviewers. The CR-48 was the first  semi-official Chromebook, and it was only sent to a limited number of people. All shipments were supposed to have stopped in March, and in fact that is what one Google rep said.

The strange thing here is that a whole bunch of CR48s have been delivered in the past week. And we're not talking about a couple reports; ChromeOSsite have collected over 2 dozen responses from people who've gotten one in the past few days.

I also signed up back in December, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. I signed up when they announced it too. Crap, I hope I don’t wind up with one. Unless they pay for postage back, in which case it’d go right back to them immediately. I hope they’ll send an email first, so I can tell them NOT to send it.
