Sony had 2 new flexible displays at SID Display Week

Sony had a second flexible screen on display in their booth last week. Curiously enough, this one is not in color. But it is the same 13" size and 1600x1200 resolution as before.

This is a black and white E-ink screen driven by a TFT backpanel. It can be bent into a 5cm fold (but not creased). Click on the image for a larger size.

I wonder if that screen actually functions. Tech-On! has 4 photos showing the screen but the image doesn't change.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
