Kno now offering a free textbook in exchange for feedback

I just got an email from Kno today and they're launching a new Early Bird program. It looks like they've realized the app needs a lot of work, and they're asking people to join the program and give Kno feedback on the app. You can sign up on Facebook, and if you participate in the review process Kno will refund the cost of your textbook.

This is great, IMO. I feel they launched the app a couple months too soon. It's not just that I think it needs more work, but I also think they could have held it until the first of August. The key launch date for a textbook app is the new school year and that's a couple months away.

By the time the school year rolls around, this is probably going to be a decent app.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
