Next7 Android tablet coming soon

E-Fun have just unveiled their latest gadget, and they're not calling it an ebook reader. There's a good reason for that; it doesn't have page turn buttons.

The Nextbook Next7 is based on a 7" (800x480) capacitive touchscreen and it's running Android v2.3 on a 1GHz CPU with 4GB Flash Storage, SD card slot, Wifi, g-sensor, and speakers.

It's shipping with Flash 10.1 support, Kobo (not Borders) reading app, and the SlideMe app store. Retail is $299.99 and it's scheduled to hit virtual store shelves on Sunday.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
