New Nook clone shows up from no where

The Nook might be discontinued, and the Spring Design Alex is long dead, but that's not going to stop the copycats.

The ebook reader at right is an unnamed Alex clone running Android. it has a 6" E-ink screen and a 3.6" (480x272) capacitive touchscreen. I'm not sure who made it (though the menu suggests it's a Rockchip design). It has Wifi, a SD card slot, and an indeterminate amount of Flash storage.

It's available from Paradigm Shift, and they want to sell it in quantities of 1k or more.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
