Qumo Fresh e-reader now available in Russia

This is another generic design from the CPU maker RockChip. It's based on a 7" LCD screen and it's running on a RockChip RK2729 CPU. It has 2 speakers, 4GB Flash storage, a microSD card slot, microphone, g-sensor, and FM radio. It doesn't appear to have Wifi or a touchscreen, but then again this isn't a tablet. But like most Rockchip designs this is a media player with extensive format support.

I last heard about this ebook reader back in march, and it was supposed to hit the Russian market in April. it's out now, and the it's selling fora little less than the 3700 rubles (about $133 USD) list price.

The-eBook.org got their hands on one, and they sounded pleased with the design. It had a long battery life, a good screen, and broad file support.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
