MSI WindPad 110W 10″ Win7 tablet coming soon

I just came across this tablet, and I have to say the basic black shape appeals to me (I like bricks).

The WindPad 110W is going to be running Windows 7  on an AMD Z-01 1GHz dual-core CPU, and it has a Radeon GPU, 10" capacitive touchscreen (an IPS panel with a 1280x800 resolution), 2GB RAM, 32GB Flash, SD card slot, a pair of 1,3MP cameras, Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS, USB host, HDMI out, and it should also have

The weight is around 1.9 lbs, so this does sound like it will be a brick. I bet this is supposed to be a laptop replacement tablet. The specs are certainly high enough. Presales are starting now at Newegg and Amazon, for a reasonable MSRP of $599.

  1. If the battery life holds up (say, 6 honest hours) this could be useful.
I would prefer a pen-friendly digitizer, but I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Main concern is the AMD CPU, those things tend to run hot. I know the new ones are supposed to be better but…
