Two Indie bookstore chains sign with Booki.sh

The ebookish blog reported today that 2 more Australian bookstore chains will soon be offering ebooks.

Sydney-based Gleebooks and Tasmania's own Fullers are the latest to adopt Booki.sh, a cloud based ebook platform. Gleebooks operates 3 stores in the Sydney metro area, and Fullers have 2 stores on the island of Tasmania. These 2 indie chains join Melbourne based Readings Books as retailers for Booki.sh.

Booki.sh was launched by an Australian tech company, Inventive Labs. The ebookstore platform is built on and expands an original browser based reading app called Monocle. The booki.sh platform only supports reading ebooks in the cloud, and since it's browser based it doesn't need apps.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
