BookieJar now selling ebooks through Kobo

The self-pub writing community BookieJar announced today that they'd signed a new deal with Kobo.  You'll soon be able to buy ebooks written and uploaded by BookieJar members in the Kobo ebookstore.

The site opened their doors in October of last year, but didn't officially launch until May 2011. They describe themselves as "an innovative and unique eBook marketplace and social media platform for eBook publishers and self-published writers, allowing them to sell eBooks and interact with readers using a purpose-built social networking platform." They also explicitly support and encourage novels under active development.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. This is the first I’m hearing about a site called Kobo. Would you mind giving me a little more information about it. I published a book through Amazon.com for the Kindle in April and I’m looking to get it into some other places.
    Thanks!
