Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″ Wifi/3G Now $200 at Woot

My blog seems to have eaten this post. Just a second while I rewrite it. Act fast becuase Woot has Samsung's older Android tablet on sale today. It's last year's model and it is refurbished, but if you line the specs up against other $200 this isn't a bad deal.

The Galaxy Tab 7 is running Android v2.2 on a single core 1GHz Hummingbird CPU. It has a 7" high resolution screen. Wifi/BT/GPS/3G, 16GB Flash, a microSD card slot, and a pair of cameras (1.3MP and 3MP).

It's running an older version of Android, but that's okay because there is an official firmware update that adds v2.3 Gingerbread. You can also find any number of hacked firmwares for this tablet including CyanogenMod.

The single core CPU is a step behind the KF and NT, but the Galaxy Tab 7 also has Android market (no hacking required) and better connectivity. This is definitely a serious alternative to either tablet - at this price anyway.

i thought ICS had a requirement of at least dual-core? just like honeycomb did.

  3. I don’t think Honeycomb requires dual core. It probably runs better, but I recall that a Google dev denied that it was required
