Kobo Vox Coming Soon to Best Buy

At long last, the Kobo Vox is headed for store shelves.

Kobo announced today that Best Buy will soon be carrying the 7" Android tablet in stores. The Vox and the Kobo Touch were already available on the website. BB will carry all 4 colors in store (Hot Pink, Lime Green, Ice Blue and Jet Black), and the retail will still be $199.

This is good news. The Vox shipped at the end of October, and this is the very first North American retailer to carry it in store. (Actually, it's the second, but Indigo doesn't count.) Not having any displays in brick and mortar stores has probably hampered its success.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. Kobo Vox has been sold at physical Best Buy stores in Canada since late October. It’s good to see them expanding to US outlets as well.

  2. It is already at Best Buy. I saw it today.
