The $400 iPad 2 is Good Enough For Me

So it turns out that the rumors about the cheap iPad 2 were at least half true; Apple is keeping the 16GB iPad 2 and pricing it for $100 less than before. That's going to play merry hell with Android tablet prices, which is a good thing.

I've thought it through and I'm not getting the new iPad. I have an original iPad, so this would be a great time to replace it. So I did, only I got an iPad 2.

It wasn't the price that sold me on the idea. I'm not actually going to be buying an iPad 2 to replace my original iPad; I lucked into a free one. If I were in the market, I'd get the new iPad 3.

You can't beat free, can ya?

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
