The Morning Coffee – 30 March 2012

Here are a few things to read this morning.

  • Bringing Up a Young Reader on E-Books (NYTimes)
  • Pre-rooted Kindle Fire 6.3 custom ROM (Liliputing)
  • What’s the greater fear for publishers? Amazon or piracy? (The Shatzkin Files)
  • About Nate Hoffelder (11221 Articles)
Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

    1. I don’t recall you mentioning it, so just in case you hadn’t heard about this, some guys at XDA forums have managed to get multi-touch working fully on the Nook Simple Touch, and have a couple of interesting videos posted of it:

There’s only a uImage (no apk), but given it has only been a few days that’s no surprise.
