Diesel eBookstore Launches New Rewards Program, Reading Apps

The largest independent US ebookstore has made a couple major moves over the past week or so.

First, this isn’t getting much press elsewhere but the Diesel eBookstore now has its own reading apps for Android, iOS. The apps are of course free, and they were developed by Bluefire, makers of the Bluefire Reader. You can use the apps to read ebooks bought via the Diesel eBookstore website, and you can even buy ebooks from inside the Android app.

In what could be a first for the ebook market, Diesel signed a merchandising deal with Koinz Media today. In the near future you will be able to buy eBooks from the ebookstore with the points earned via the loyalty rewards programs run by Koinz Media. "eBooks are available instantly to reward members that redeem their credit card reward points or airline miles at their loyalty portal. Diesel provides a vast selection across all the leading eBook readers and we are thrilled to be bringing this selection to our partner banks, airlines and hotel programs" Anu Shukla, CEO of Koinz Media Inc.

Diesel has long had their own reward program where you could earn credits towards free ebooks. With this new partnership, readers will be able to redeem points from purchases at Koinz’s bank, hotel, and airline partners. A total of around 500 thousand titles out of Diesel’s 3,000,000 titles will be offered as part of the program.
