Now here's something curious.
A press release from Canada just crossed my inbox. It seems that Indigo, the former parent of Kobo and current retail partner in Canada, isn't pinning their hopes on Kobo's Android tablet this holiday season.
They have just announced that they are carrying the Nexus 7 32GB model. It's in stock in Chapters and Indigo stores across Canada and can also be found on their website.
Gee, I wonder of they got tired of waiting for the Kobo Arc?
Indigo doesn't carry much else in the way of electronics and they do not have any other Android tablets (none showed up in the search), so today's news does actually tell us something about what Indigo thinks of Kobo and the Kobo Arc.
Note that Indigo didn't mention the Nexus 10 nor any other tablet; that's why I believe the Kobo Arc is the subtext for today's press release.
I suspect that there has been some unspecified delay in the release of the Kobo Arc. It might not be much of a delay so much as a degree of uncertainty as to when it would arrive, but it could have been enough that Indigo to hedge their bets.
And considering that Kobo has not been any more specific about the ship date for the Arc other than specifying that they would release it in November, we really don't have any info to gainsay this story, do we?
