Medium App Grows Up, Now Available for the iPad

medium-logo-150x150[1]Android users are still sitting out in the cold, but earlier today Medium let iPad owners join the fun. The blog platform slash publisher Medium updated their two-month-old iOS app today with support for Apple's tablets.

iPad users can now log in and read stories posted on the Medium site. You still cannot post new stories, and you can't comment (Medium has no comment feature), but users can also follow other users and see what they are reading and writing. This update also enables readers to recommend stories and add a note which explains why.

You can find Medium's app in iTunes.

  • iPad: Medium for iOS is now available on the iPad!
  • User Following: Stay up-to-date with your friends and favorite authors by following them directly.
  • Recommend Notes: You can now share why you recommended a post with a note!

Medium is a 2-year-old blogging platform launched by two of the original co-founders of Blogger (before it was sold to Google) and Twitter. It is a hybrid next-generation publishing platform which is in some ways also a publisher.

About Nate Hoffelder (11477 Articles)
Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
