Scribd Celebrates the 11 Month Anniversary of its eBook Subscription Service with an Infographic

scribd[1]The first of October will mark  one year since the launch of Scribd's ebook subscription service, but rather than celebrate its first  anniversary (which coincidentally comes a few weeks after that of the launch of the competing service Oyster) Scribd has chosen to celebrate the 11 month anniversary.

Today Scribd has released an infographic detailing what they've seen over the past year (ish). They haven't included any really interesting details like revenues, the growth or number of subscribers, etc, but the infographic does tell us that a billion pages have been read, and that Scribd's subscribers have devoted 17.6 million hours to reading ebooks from Scribd's 500,000 title catalog.

Enjoy.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
