There’s a New “Fifty Shades” Book in the Works

Last June Penguin published a fourth installment in the Fifty Shades saga, one which retold the story from the viewpoint of Christian Grey. Now E L James is apparently working on a fifth book.

BookRiot beat me to the news that EL James has posted an excerpt of her next book on Facebook. It's called Fifty Shades Darker: From Christian’s Point Of View, and has a tentative release date of 2017.

I found the last book, Grey, to be a painfully tedious read, so I am planning to skip this one. How about you?

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. Not a fan. These books are not good at all.

  2. And didn’t you and several other outlets report that 2016 opened with a rough six months for corporate publishers, with Penguin Random House posting revenue loss of nearly 11% year over year?

I doubt the timing of this announcement is entirely unrelated.
