Free eBooks: Robert Charles Wilson’s “Spin”, Jekyll & Hyde (Amazon), and More

spin-rcwIt's the beginning of the month, and that means free ebooks.

The new free title for the book club is Spin by Robert Charles Wilson:

The sun is now a featureless disk—a heat source, rather than an astronomical object. The moon is gone, but tides remain. A space probe reveals a bizarre truth: The barrier is artificial, generated by huge alien artifacts. Time is passing faster outside the barrier than inside—more than a hundred million years per year on Earth.

At this rate, the death throes of the sun are only about forty years in our future.

Amazon also has a free Kindle-Audible bundle, but it's the same title as last month (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) so for many of us it will not be new.

Edit: Amazon is giving away Wuthering Heights as the free ebook-audiobook bundle for November.

And Amazon Prime members can of course download one of six free titles.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
