About Nate Hoffelder (11214 Articles)
Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. The reason people aren’t reading blogs as much is BECAUSE they are on social media. Posting or pushing content to social sites helps, but you don’t control what others people see on those sites so FB (and others) may not show your content very often (especially if it links off their site). And it’s nice to ask for emails and signups, but it’s also a fast way to annoy a reader. Splashing it right across the top of the articles is not going to convince me to sign up. Things will eventually shift away from FB (due to ads and political posts, etc) but these things cycle.
