New Indian ebookstore launched – with a twist

I just came across today. This is a small web bookstore that’s recently expanded into ebooks. They currently stock 5900 title s in 3 languages (Marathi, English, and Hindi).

The ebooks from BookGanga are tied into  proprietary app. I’ve tried it and it’s not worth installing. The number of free titles that you can get with it are limited, and I couldn’t see a way to open my own ebooks. It also just wasn’t very pleasant to use.

Here’s the twist: this Indian ebookstore is headquartered in Pennsylvania (in the USA). This really shouldn’t be a surprise, but it is rather curious.
