Vook shifting all operations to NYC

The enhanced ebook maker Vook mentioned today that they will soon be closing out their office in California.

I was told that the production and engineering staff  from the Emeryville, Calif. office and the staff from the current Manhattan location will be working in a new office in Chelsea. Around 2 dozen employees will be working from the new location. I'm told that the purpose of the move is to help Vook work closer with their publisher partners, most of whom are based in NYC.

Vook are a maker of enhanced ebooks, and you can find their work in iTunes, the Kindle Store, , Android Market, and the Chrome Store.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
