Barnes & Noble has scored another exclusive Android app today. Tikatok, a story building website, just released a new Android app. This is their first mobile app and you won't find it anywhere besides the NC.
This site is based on the idea that kids can create their own stories. It's designed to help them write, illustrate, and publish books. The mobile version will let children capture thoughts and ideas on their NookColors and the submit the content to Tikatok so it can be made into a book.
BTW, this isn't much of an exclusive. B&N owns Tikatok, so it would make sense for them to limit it like this. On the other hand, integrating a subsidiary in this way was a smart move.
You know, for a brick-and-mortar store, B&N certainly seems to be doing a good job marketing digital content. It's a little surprising that B&N seems to be beating Amazon in this niche.Do you recall the developer who pulled out of the Amazon Appstore last week? I haven't even heard a hint of that happening with B&N.
