TabTimes to launch tablet only magazine this fall

Rupert Murdoch and Richard Branson have both launch a tablet only periodical, and it looks like we’ll have a third come this fall. A new tech magazine called TabTimes will be launching later this year and it will be iPad only.

The magazine will be led by a number of tech reporting veterans. George Jones is leading the news teams and he brings his years of experience as the editor-in-chief Maximum Tech and Maximum PC. He’ll be joined by Patrick Pierra and Keith Jordan. Patrick, formerly the CEO of BV! Media, will be Tabtimes' publisher, and Keith will be the launch manager.  Additionally, Steven Lang has joined the team and will act as TabTimes managing editor and business director.

I wish them the best of luck, and I will certainly watch them, but I have my doubts. While I’m sure a new blog could at least break even, the market for people reading on a tablet might not be big enough to pull this off. On the other hand, if iPads keep selling the way they are then that market could quite well be big enough come fall.
