Gallery: Softbook and GEB-2150 ebook readers

Here are 2 of the oldest ebook readers on the US market. The larger device is the Softbook Reader,  and it’s a generation older. It has a 9.75″ screen, 33.6 modem, funky internal Flash card (8MB), and a stylus.

The smaller device is the GEB2150, and as you can see it is clearly based on the same hardware design. it improves on the design by adding a CF card slot, ethernet port, and going with a slightly less monstrous 8″ screen.

I’ve been wanting to put these 2 devices next to each other for the longest time now, but I couldn’t do that until my Softbook arrived this week. Now I know for sure what the hardware looks like.  And now that I’ve posted these pictures, so do you.

Here’s a few photos that show the major differences between the 2 devices. Click to enlarge.

I got my Softbook on Ebay this week, and the GEB2150 a few weeks back. The GEB still has several hours battery life, even.
