B&N appointed a new director for their program to find and promote new authors

Barnes & Noble have just announced that Miwa Messer will be taking over the Discover Great New Writers Program as its director.

This program, now in its 21st year, is used by B&N to highlight the best new literary talents from among the many books published each season.  The titles are handpicked by a select group of Barnes & Noble booksellers as being above grade and worth recommending to B&N customers.

She’s managed author events and supervised literary forums at the various B&N promotional events: Writers on Writers, Upstairs at the Square, B&N Review in Person. Before she joined B&N, she worked for Grove/Atlantic, Inc. and Waterstone’s Booksellers, USA.
