Smashwords Style Guide downloaded 100k times

Mark Coker announced earlier today that the Smashwords  Style Guide had ticked over another notch on the counter.

As you can probably guess from the name, this guide is an instruction manual on how to format your ebook so you can submit it to Smashwords. Would you believe I’ve never used it? (I’m waiting for the paper edition.)

Kidding aside, I have used it. The guide is pretty good but the process is horrifying. Smashwords will only accept a DOC file and the work involved is ridiculous. It actually takes as much work to make a compliant Smashwords file as it does to make an Epub and a Kindle combined.

Congrats on the 100,000 downloads, Mark!
