Amazon registered - Could this be the new stylus enable Kindle? e-Reading Hardware Someone at Amazon has been having fun with the tech blogs lately.

Amazon registered a new URL for a couple weeks back, and a few days ago they registered the URL at Unfortunately, these URLs very likely won't have anything to do with the new Kindle devices, even though some bloggers will jump to that conclusion.

Before writing this post I checked to see if Amazon had registered any new trademarks. Nope. And that is a killer. Holding the URL related to a product is a good idea, yes. But holding the trademark is an absolute necessity.Amazon won't launch a product until after they've nailed down the trademark; that's just common sense.

BTW, I was hoping to find the trademark; I thought Kindle Scribe was a really neat name. But they're not using it.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
