Someone at Amazon has been having fun with the tech blogs lately.
Amazon registered a new URL for KindleAir.com a couple weeks back, and a few days ago they registered the URL at KindleScribe.com. Unfortunately, these URLs very likely won’t have anything to do with the new Kindle devices, even though some bloggers will jump to that conclusion.
Before writing this post I checked to see if Amazon had registered any new trademarks. Nope. And that is a killer. Holding the URL related to a product is a good idea, yes. But holding the trademark is an absolute necessity.Amazon won’t launch a product until after they’ve nailed down the trademark; that’s just common sense.
BTW, I was hoping to find the trademark; I thought Kindle Scribe was a really neat name. But they’re not using it.
