Polymer Vision Teases Us with a New Video

Polymer Vision is back after a 3 month silence, and they have something new for us.

The last video they posted showed their new extremely flexible screen and how it could be rolled around a dime. Today's video is an impact test with E-ink's non-flexible screen on one side and PV's screen on the other.  Guess which one broke?

The video is really cool, but it doesn't really show anything new.  Impact damage and the general need for improved durability was half the reason to develop a flexible screen,  and that's what PV have been working on these past 3 years.

When we last spoke, my contact with PV didn't have any new details that he could share.  So I don't know when we will see this on an actual device. But I, for one, am ever hopeful.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
