Ebook Sales have More than Doubled at Random House

Bertelsmann, the corporate parent of Random House, released a new set of financial docs today and the numbers for Random House ebooks were a little surprising.

Revenues for the first half of  2011 were €787 million, which is down slightly from 2010 (€791 million). The various Random House imprint are now up to just over 27 thousand ebook titles in circulation worldwide, and they’ve seen more ebook sales in the first 6 months of 2011 than all of 2010 combined.

Unfortunately, they didn’t get any more specific than that. The rest of the press released and attached letter discussed the various other parts of Bertelsmann and the success that RH have had with the books they are publishing.
