Amazon Responds to the $170 Nook Color

Amazon Responds to the $170 Nook Color e-Reading Hardware When Barnes & Noble launched the new 8GB Nook Tablet and the cheaper NC on Tuesday, I knew it would only be a matter of time before Amazon responded. It took them until Saturday, but they did.

Amazon has dropped the price of the Kindle Fire refurbs to $170. They had been selling it at $180.

That's not much of  response, I'll admit. But it's still interesting to see that Amazon couldn't let the $10 difference slip by. On a related note, has a refurbished Nook Color for $130. I think that might be B&N's new selling price.

P.S. If you're interested in hearing about more deals, checkout this page. I'm starting a deals page & RSS feed, and they will be kept separate from the front page and main RSS feed. Rather than gathering a bunch of deals into one post,  I'm going to post decent deals as I find them.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
