Charbax is in Shenzhen, China, this week covering a number of trade shows. While he was there he also strolled through the occasional market and picked up a tablet or 2. If you've ever admired my tablet collection, let me tell you that I don't have anything like the selection available in Shenzhen.
I've shown you a couple $99 Android tablets available here in the US. Charbax can top them. Here he has a 7" tablet with a capacitive touchscreen, camera, and selling for a mere 399 yuan (~$63). It runs the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich).
The reason it's so cheap is that it's using the Boxchip A10 CPU that everyone likes right now. This is the one with a 1.2GHz CPU and 400MHz graphics chip bundled into one chipset.
I've mentioned the CPU once or twice before, with good reason. This is going to be the one that changes everything in the budget tablet market in 2012. It's going to drop the market by $30 to $50. Any budget tablet without this CPU is going to be laughably expensive by the time the next CES rolls around.
As you can see in the video, this tablet has a sleek design with the usual ports. Performance seems to be rather smooth, considering that it's running the latest version of Android.
