Charbax is still in Shenzhen buying gadgets, watching tablet fashion shows, and generally making me deeply jealous of all the gadgetry he's found. Last week he came across an Android watch, and I'm pretty sure it's the same hardware as the one I posted back in January.
This time around the watch is in the hands of Phaeton's manufacturing partner. You cannot see much of the watch but later in the video you'll hear a number of details on price and costs.
I'm not sure we'll ever see this on the market. It has an estimated retail of $300. You can strap a whole smartphone to your wrist for less than that. There are phones with 2" screens so it's not outside the realm of possibility. I also have to wonder about the value of strapping another gadget to your wrist. It would seem to me that watches are dying out because their function is easily replaced by a phone or other device. Even if this were available I'm not sure it would sell well.
