One iPad Mini Comes to a Justly Deserved End

The photo below was posted on Reddit last night, and it shows that there are worse things than having to wait 5 weeks to get a hot new gadget.

According to the comments, this amazing amount of damage was the work of FedEx, and the usual steps of putting it in rice, turning it off and turning it on, etc did not help. Even the Genius Bar’s suggestion of doing a factory reset did not help restore this iPad Mini.

I have broken some gadgets in my day, but I have never quite managed to be this thorough. This is the single best attempt to destroy a tablet (short of Blendtec’s will it blend skits) that I have ever seen.

Did you try removing all third-party apps?

Try using a lens cleaner on the glass. I do that for all of my tablets and it really helps to get the fingerprints off.

Rooting can restore it!

Seriously, holy mackerel. That FedEx guy needs a different job. Like hunting down and defusing bombs. That’d be a "deserved end" right there.

This is why you should have put a screen protector on it.

What made its end justly deserved?

It’s an iPad Mini.

Nate hates the Mini. Once he lusted after it from afar, but it scorned his merely average bank balance, so now he is driven by a twisted desire to see it fall. There are probably moors and stuff involved.

Apparently there are at least 2 people here who cannot take a joke.

I guess the FedEx guy was holding it wrong…

Well played sir, well played!

Wow…. I wonder what they did with it to make it squish like that… It must have been stuck between two thin, yet very strong packets, with a lot of force applied…

I seriously cannot understand how something like this could have happened "naturally"…

I think they slammed 2 doors together – repeatedly.

It’s not really gone as long as we remember it.
