Kobo Hires Former Apple Sales Director to Boost Growth in Europe, Africa

kobo-snaps-up-former-apple-sales-director[1]Canada’s biggest digital reading company has stepped up their game today. Kobo has hired Jean-Marc Dupuis (LinkedIn), a former sales director at Apple, as their new Managing Director for EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Mr. Dupuis comes to Kobo from Apple, where he spent the last 4 years as a Sales Director for Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa.  While he was at Apple he is described as being "instrumental in increasing customer partnerships in Europe, expanding Apple’s business in emerging countries and more than doubling revenue in many countries."

His prior experience with the region and the intricacies of the local markets should help Kobo boost growth and add additional local partners. Right now Kobo has established localized ebookstores in several European markets as well as South Africa, making them the first of the global ebooksellers to turn their attention to the continent.
